66.4p per 100g, Ocado Jersey Royals are selected from the finest Jersey soils. However the process of planting and harvesting is unique within the fresh produce world and continues over 100 years of tradition. When it comes to growing, the Jersey Royal crop is unique. Each seed potato is carefully planted by hand, over 1,800 hectares, by a team of 350 expert staff. Although a small island, parts of the Jersey terrain are steep and rocky - making both planting and harvesting extremely dangerous. These slopes are known as côtils and are only accessible by winches. The potatoes themselves are fertilized naturally by the seaweed that washes up onto the islands beaches. Due to ancient laws, this can only be collected Monday to Saturday.Ocados Royals are only picked when they reach their very best - ensuring the fresh taste is available for everyone to appreciate.
