74.5p per 100g, Variety: RedborKale is one of the tastiest things about Britain. The purple version is equally as delicious as normal green kale, if not even more so! Its rich, ruffled leaves are not only an attractive deep purple, but also full of nourishing flavour. Lightly cabbage and semi-crisp, kale is from the cabbage family and makes a good alternative to cavolo nero, other cabbages and even spinach. Nutritionally it is a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals - the perfect pick-me-up.Steam or microwave to maintain most of its nutritional value. Bear in mind that the central stalk may need a slightly longer cooking time.
