Penderyn Single Malt Whiskey 1X70CL

Penderyn Madeira Single Malt Welsh Whisky 70cl This is the original, award-winning Penderyn single malt whisky, matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in ex Madeira casks for generous flavour and subtle complexity. The hillside village of Penderyn southern gateway to the wild beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, gives its name to this unique Welsh single malt whisky, made here at the only distillery in Wales. One of the very few distilleries in private hands today, Penderyn continues a treasured tradition; in the 18th century an early Welsh distiller was among the founding fathers of bourbon distilling in America. Each day here we charge our unique copper still with a specially fermented single variety malted barley wash. The days distillation yields a single barrel of pure single malt spirit, which is married with spring water from our own source, then matured in selected first quality oak barrels. Unique distillation and careful maturation create a single malt whisky, in which a sweet, elegant, Penderyn house style shines through. Even then, theres more to do. To attain their full depth and complexity of flavours, different hand-crafted expressions of Penderyn are aged or finished in different woods. The original Penderyn in this bottle has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in ex-Madeira wine casks to bring out its full golden character. At a generous 46% abv it has a classic freshness with aromas of cream toffee, rich fruit and raisins. The palate is crisp and finely rounded, with the sweetness to balance an appetising dryness. Notes of tropical fruit, raisins and vanilla persist in the finish. Like the fabled Welsh Gold (in Welsh, Aur Cymru) used to make heirloom jewellery proudly worn by kings and princes down the ages, Penderyn single malt is rare and highly prized. To those who love it, its a new kind of Welsh Gold. Aur Cymr Alcohol Information: Type Spirits Alcohol By Volume 46% Units 32.2 Net Contents: 70cl (e) Manufacturers Addres...
