The Akasa Euler S however, like its predecessor, the Euler without S, supports the rather young standard launched by Intel. Corresponding boards are now on the market by major brands such as ASUS, ASRock or Gigabyte. Since the Euler S (here as an OEM version without brand logo) only measures just over 6 cm in height, the content of the system must of course also be dimensioned accordingly. For such very small systems, the Euler-S housing was developed by Akasa, which can be used flat, standing (feet included) or directly on the VESA mount of a compatible monitor. It was designed to accommodate the special motherboards and therefore has very compact dimensions. But that does not mean that not a lot of hardware fits into the tiny. The design is therefore geared primarily to practical aspects to allow maximum space utilization, but remains very discreet and pleasing. The front offers the obligatory arsenal of power and reset button, paired with two status LEDs for memory access and operating status. Unlike the original Euler, the newer S version also has two USB 3.0 ports embedded. In addition, the peripheral edge around the front panel is now decorated with a shiny silver diamond edge finish. Thanks to the otherwise matte structure, the Euler S looks very restrained and thus also offers itself as HTPC. Almost the entire surface of the lid and sides is open and serves for ventilation. However, these are not supported by a fan because the CPU is kept cool by an integrated heatsink and emits the waste heat directly to the aluminum housing.
