The Californian merlot also has less tannin, a nice medium weight and is soft with a hint of spice, making it very different to South American and European merlot.Notes: Fruity enough; without hard edges; very drinkable when served at a cool room temperature.Drink with: Pairs really well with medium to full-flavoured red meat and perfect with hearty stews.
